Community coaching - Who's who
Atholl Henderson.
Atholl has held the post of Community Coach at St. Johnstone since October 1994, after a two and a half year spell in the same role at Dundee United.
His playing career began at St. Johnstone, way back in 1972, and his list of clubs include Celtic, Dunfermline, Forfar and Brechin, before moving into coaching in 1983. Again his first club was St. Johnstone, followed by spells at Forfar, Dundee United and Brechin.
In the last 16 years, Atholl has built up a strong programme of development activities, and local boys and girls have opportunities to play at McDiarmid Park and at many other venues throughout Perth and Kinross.
Dave Black
Dave Black joined the community coaching staff in October 2009. He had been part of the community coaching scheme as a volunteer for around 12 years so he has some prior knowledge of what to expect in his role!
Dave also works within our youth development programme, currently coaching our under 15 side. A licenced childrens’ coach as well as a level 4 youth coach, he has previously coached our under 12’s,13’s and 19’s.
Alongside generally assisting Atholl, he has been brought on board to further develop partnership working with various groups within the community.
