U18s: Brodie Dair previews Dunfermline (A)

Brodie Dair feels he is improving with every passing week as the young forward looks to finish the season strongly with our under-18s.

Dair has played a key role in another productive campaign for the U18s, who remain in with a shout of Club Academy Scotland League success.

The Saints youngsters defeated Partick Thistle 2-1 last Friday evening – Adam McMillan netted a crucial double – and now face Dunfermline away this week.

“Last week was good and we showed great character to come back from 1-0 down,” Dair explained to us.

“Conceding first might have put doubt in our mind, but Adam showed class to score his two goals and it was a good feeling after the game.

“Right from the start of the season – even pre-season – all of the boys came in and worked hard.

“Some of the older boys went on loan but younger players like myself and others have stepped up.

“It has been one of my better seasons and I feel I have played some of my best games. I feel I’ve really developed physically and mentally.

“There is a lot of team spirit and we all get along with each other. It is always a good vibe in the changing room and around the building. That helps us gel on the pitch.”

Dair, whose dad Lee and uncle Jason previously played in the professional ranks, is focused on continuing his development in the game.

“I came to the club when I was 11 or 12 and have enjoyed it ever since,” he said. “Alistair Stevenson has been great with me.

“I feel like I am improving every day. Coming in with the lads and the coaches, they help me a lot.”

A trip to Dunfermline awaits this Friday afternoon and Dair continued: “Dunfermline will be a tough game. It always is against them.

“Every match is crucial going into last three games of the season. We need to dig deep to get the points.”
