'WELL VISIT IS DEL'S 100TH IN CHARGE

Manager Derek McInnes will take charge of the team for the 100th time tomorrow when Motherwell visit Perth.

It was the first day of December 2007 that Del took the reins for the first time and he watched his side battle back from 2-0 down with only injury time to play to grab a 2-2 draw at Firhill thanks to injury time goals from Paul Sheerin and Kenny Deuchar.

Twenty seven months on and both these players could well be involved in tomorrow’s game against an in-form Motherwell side who are going well under Craig Brown and Archie Knox.

On the subject of his 100th game Derek says, “It’s gone pretty quickly to be honest. You go week to week and it’s non-stop, even in the close season when it is all about getting players in. You just work week to week but when it is fast and furious the time does fly in.

“One thing’s for sure, I wouldn’t swap it - I absolutely love the job. I’m at a club where the conditions are good and I’m fortunate to deal with a lot of good players who have the right attitude and application.”

An full interview with Derek on his landmark match will appear in the match programme for tomorrow’s game.

The Manager is determined to emerge from the busy March month with plenty of points and for tomorrow’s game has more or less the same pool which was available to him for the game at Hibs last weekend.

Graham Gartland has taken time to get over the infection which floored him 90 minutes before the Easter Road encounter but is well enough to be considered, Cillian Sheridan has returned from Under 21 duty with the Republic of Ireland unscathed and Kenny Deuchar’s ankle injury is unlikely to keep him out.

Murray Davidson faces a late decision on his niggling groin strain but midfield colleague Kevin Moon should be fit.
