SHERIDAN THE MATCH WINNER FOR IN-FORM SAINTS

Saints continued to make the most of their games in hand tonight when they defeated Aberdeen 1-0 at McDiarmid Park.

Following on from wins in rearranged fixtures against Hibs and Falkirk, the players worked hard for this win over a struggling Dons side and although there was only one goal in it, it was a deserved win.

The only goal of the game came in the 21st minutes and was scored by Cillian Sheridan who converted from close range after a Grainger volley had been blocked on the line.

The only down side to the night was a serious knee injury sustained by Kevin Moon – early indications are that it has brought the talented young midfielder’s season to an end.

Tonight’s win takes us three points behind Hearts with two games in hand over the Edinburgh side.
