SAINTS GAIN NARROW WIN IN LISBURN

SAINTS GAIN NARROW WIN IN LISBURN Saints secured a narrow 1-0 win over Irish part-timers Distillery in Lisburn tonight but it took a Liam Craig penalty kick to divide the teams in a dour struggle of a game.

Craig struck in 66 minutes after a Steven Anderson shot was handled on the line.

Jamie Adams and teenager Liam Caddis were both given their first starts of the campaign and Derek McInnes fielded a trialist goalkeeper but the foreigner had little to do apart from one good save close to the end of the match.
