JODY SET TO FEATURE AGAINST DUNGANNON

JODY SET TO FEATURE AGAINST DUNGANNON Jody Morris should get 45 minutes of match action tonight when Saints meet Dungannon Swifts in the second match of their two game trip to Northern Ireland.

The influential midfielder underwent summer surgery to get to the root of a troublesome hernia issue and has been following his own recovery programme in the run-up to the new season.

Manager Derek McInnes told the Saints Official Website; “Jody is making good progress but we have not been rushing him. He should get half of tonight’s game and all being well he can then be involved in the three home friendlies to varying degrees.”

Murray Davidson is also expected to feature having missed Tuesday’s game.

Tonight’s game is being held to celebrate the opening of Dungannon’s new changing and boardroom facilities and Del is hoping to take more from this encounter then he did from Tuesday’s game in Lisburn.

“Tuesday’s game served a purpose in terms of it being another match in which to sharpen up but the performance wasn’t the best. There are big demands on the players at this time of the season as we endeavour to ensure they are ready for the start of the campaign but I am looking for an improved and more positive performance against Dungannon.”

The Saints squad met up with supporters yesterday at a special open training session arranged by the club and after watching the team be put through their paces, the travelling fans then mixed with the players for autographs and photographs while some of the youngsters took part in a penalty shoot out with the winner picking up a signed jersey.

Derek said: “It was great to meet up with the fans and good to see some familiar faces. Everyone in the squad appreciates the commitment these supporters show and are aware of the considerable expense they go to.”
