Max Kucheriavyi was born in Kyiv on May 9th 2002 and played locally for DYuSSh-15 Kyiv.

After playing in a youth tournament in the Kyiv, Kucheriavyi caught the eye of Hearts. After being unable to gain a contract with Hearts, he signed with at McDiarmid Park on a three-year deal.

At the start of the 2021–22 season, he was on loaned to Brechin City. After a impressing at the lower league club, scoring nine goals in 19 appearances, he was recalled by St Johnstone in January. He was loaned to Kelty Hearts where he would continue to impress, scoring the winning goal which guaranteeing Kelty's Scottish League Two title victory.

Kucheriavyi has been capped at under-21 level for Ukraine.
